Tiffiny spoke to us recently to promote her latest book. You can view our interview with her below:
What can you tell us about your new book Fatloss for Good: The Secret Weapon?
My new book is so exciting! It gives you the secrets to the two most popular questions I’m asked – what is the secret to weightloss and how can you maintain your ideal weight forever? The secret weapon is our mind. You are what you think. You can think yourself thin through changing your brain chemistry, mindset and thought patterns with food and exercise. The right food can be medicine, the wrong food a drug. Weightloss is completely mental.
The book shares the latest research, healthy recipes and tips. Such as how to workout in your mind gym, give yourself a five-minute body makeover, derail binge eating, practice food feng shui, confidence karate and the art of cellulite defence as well as how to do metabolism yoga, create a three hour day, give up self-control and willpower for good, change your habits, eat for two, lose baby weight, be a ninja mum and why it is important to love your hunger and ditch diets forever. Whether at home, school, on a plane, in a restaurant, food court, at work or in your community, I teach you how to be a HEALTH NINJA!
How long did it take to write? Does it take a lot of time and effort to produce?
This book took two years of research and four months to write. Some health experts use ghost writers, but I wrote every word. I wanted the book to sound like me as your own personal coach as well as be a work of art so that it’s inviting and friendly, sits on your kitchen counter as a positive mentor not a nagging guilty dictator. My publisher Hardie Grant and I spent a lot of time on the design so that it’s easy to flick through and find tips as well as keeping it fun and handbag sized so it’s not only a fatloss guide but also a delicious recipe book.
In what ways is it different to Weightloss Warrior?
This book concentrates more on emotional eating. How to control binge or disordered eating and taps into eating disorders. Our relationship with food comes from our relationship with ourselves. So we have to make sure we think right, before we can eat right.
Fatloss for Good is also out as an eBook, why is this?
I wanted to make Fatloss for Good more accessible with added videos of my favourite recipes and stretches.
Weightloss Warrior inspired thousands to get healthy and lose weight, how does that make you feel?
I am so pumped to have a legion of Health Ninjas out there adopting the warrior way of respecting your mind, body and spirit. Healthy food doesn’t have to be boring, and I hope that Weightloss Warrior and Fatloss for Good helps people to discover health food as fun and exercise as liberating.
Have your contestants on The Biggest Loser this year been getting some tips from the book?
I gave my contestants a copy of the book as soon as it came out and they cooked often from my recipes in order to strip weight in the house. Fatloss for Good was their first introduction to healthy cooking and they loved it! I credit my weightloss transformations on the show with Michelle, Kasey and Bek to the power of healthy recipes from Fatloss for Good and Weightloss Warrior.
How did you find the time to write in between filming Loser?
I write all the time. It’s my down time in-between filming. I write fiction too. I currently have five books on the go so it keeps me balanced, exercising the mind just as much as the body.
What’s it like working with Hardie Grant?
Hardie Grant are a dream publisher to work with. The team are so creative and flexible. It’s not easy pumping out books as quickly as we do around my filming schedule.
When will you we be doing more signings? People from every city in the country would love to meet you .
I would love to do more signings. I have a book tour coming up in September where I hope to hit schools and shopping centres in every state. I’ll be launching my debut novel at this time.
Based on the amount of fan messages we receive, the majority of people in Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth are dying to meet you. Any plans to travel to these cities?
I hope in September.
Any other projects on the horizon?
I’m writing full time at the moment. I’m working on a children’s trilogy and a young adult novel. I have two books that I have to complete this year. I will also have a cookbook out by Christmas jam packed with healthy eating ideas and recipes.
Any last words?
I am so grateful for all the support from my fans and fansite – my ninjas are so important to me!
