According to an article in the Sydney Morning Herald, Channel ten will likely axe The Biggest Loser once season 9 ends due to poor ratings. If the weightloss series isn't picked up by another network, this means we will never see Tiff on the show again - a sad thought. As expected, during the finale episode another season wasn't announced. However, Hayley Lewis did say "see you soon".
We will have to wait and see what happens. From another perspective, there were rumours flying around last year that ten signed another female trainer. Having watched the latest season, those rumours are well and truly false. In addition, there was no white team this year. It seems the producers were leaving the door open for Tiff.
The SMH article states:
McLennan [Ten CEO] admits several shows haven't met expectations. He didn't say it outright, but viewers can expect that when The Biggest Loser finishes on Sunday, it'll be the last kilo shed for that program. "We are happy to invest our money in reality but we have to find the right format," [Hamish] McLennan says. "We are looking at so many different formats at the moment … The Biggest Loser is one that is getting to the end of its life cycle."
