Despite reports Loser would not return for another season and numerous media articles, the show will be back for another series. Regardless, ten did state they weren't quite done with The Biggest Loser Australia. After an under performing 9th season with average casting, poor ratings, pacing issues and lack of conflict, Australia's longest running reality series needs a serious revamp.
In our view, it seems like a good idea that another families edition will take place. Tiff's first series - The Biggest Loser Families, was just as successful as MasterChef for that year with 1.68 million viewers for the finale. According to TV Tonight, a makeover will be required which may include changes to the cast, trainers and authenticity. This begs the question, would they cast a new trainer if Tiff didn't want to return?
"The next season will focus on the obesity epidemic that's crippling Australia. We welcome applications from Australian 'Families' of all shapes, sizes and make up. We consider a 'family' to consist of four people who have the same shared goals, values and have long-term commitments to one another, whether they are Mum, Dad, & Son, best friends or cousins."
Applications are now open.
Edit: Michelle Bridges will not be returning in 2015, production company Shine Australia are currently looking for 'new and experienced' trainers (source).
